About the Artist

Lamberto Caancan Bagalso Pagalanan Acyatan was born in a small town but recognized as the woodcarving capital of the Philippines - Paete, Laguna. A post-graduate of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Adamson University in Paco, Manila and a post-graduate of Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Painting at PWC of Davao. Won 2nd prized winner in Painting Category and a finalist in Sculpture Category Shell National Students Art Competition on the same year. He participated in numerous exhibitions in the 90's such as "ART MANILA '93 focus on AIDS"; "PAETNIK Living with Nature ; "SCULPTURE 90', 91', and 93' at Galleria de las Islas -Intramuros, Manila.
An award-winning artist in Philippine Art Award '94 and Philippine Art Award '96. And a grand prized winner in WOW MINDANAO SCULPTURE 2004.
He is known as "THE GRANDFATHER OF EPOXY ART ".
