Down to Earth

Lamberto Acyatan, "Obet" to friends, was born in Paete, Laguna, the famous town of woodcarvers that ran out of wood, ran away from home. His long journey as an artist settled in this island Mindanao, and in his search for meaning, he found a unique replacement material to express his art. Poly Epoxide, commonly known as Epoxy used for boats became his medium and indeed fellow artists regard him as "The Grandfather of Epoxy Art".
In this series he calls "Down to Earth", the matured Obet went drawing circles, spiraling towards the center, humbling himself to the beauty of God's creation, has discovered that the center of the earth is the center of his soul, of each soul.
Down to earth is his way up to heaven. -KM
